Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad Opportunity Shop
SPRS also operates an Opportunity Shop in Nelson Street, Rye, that provides essential funds towards the running costs of the Squads search and rescue operations. A band of SPRS Volunteers operate the shop on a daily basis and new volunteers are always welcome.
Who Are We?
The SPRS Opportunity Shop was established at 2 Wilson Road, Blairgowrie in 1997.
Its’ primary purpose at the time was to raise much needed funds to keep the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad Helicopter operational. It continued to operate from this address for over 20 years.
In October 2017 the Rescue Squad was given notice that the Op Shop must vacate the Wilson Road premises. A new location was subsequently found in Rye and the new shop at 12D Nelson Road opened in the first week of November 2017.
The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad Op Shop staff are all volunteers.
Over its 22 years, our Op Shop has not only raised a significant amount of money but has provided a place to drop in for a friendly chat where quality goods can be purchased at very reasonable prices. There are some great bargains to be found so why not pay them a visit.
