Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad
Marine Search & Rescue.
Volunteers give their time for training, patrols, assistance and educating the general boating public and of course for the vital role of search and rescue. SPRS members come from all walks of life, and with varying levels of boating experience
We extend a welcoming invitation to anyone interested in becoming a volunteer with the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad. Not all volunteers are On-water Crew. We also have Shore Crew who are just as valuable.
Joining the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad is a great way to learn new skills, get out on the water, make new friends and serve your community. It can be a welcome change from your normal life and extremely rewarding.
Assisting in search and rescue, emergency responses with the police, ambulance, joint operations, marine assist and public awareness are just a few of the jobs we do every day.
Our volunteers come from all stages and walks of life, just like you. Many of them have no prior experience with boating or search and rescue.
We provide you with all the training you need and the opportunity to be part of a great organisation.
We have many roles available, including
* Rescue Boat Crew
* Marine Radio Operators
* Education
* Administration
