SPRS Op Shop

“A great little Op Shop”

The Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad operates an Opportunity Shop in Nelson Street, Rye, that provides essential funds to cover the running costs of the Squad’s Search and Rescue operations. A band of SPRS Volunteers operate the shop on a daily basis, and new volunteers are always welcome.

History

The SPRS Opportunity Shop was established at 2 Wilson Road, Blairgowrie in 1997.

Its’ primary purpose at the time was to raise much needed funds to keep the Southern Peninsula Rescue Squad Helicopter operational.  It continued to operate from this address for over 20 years.

In October 2017 the Rescue Squad was given notice that the Op Shop must vacate the Wilson Road premises.  A new location was subsequently found in Rye and the new shop at 12D Nelson Road opened in the first week of November 2017.
